Little Kicks Launches in Scotland

Following the monumental success of the Little Kickers football training programme south of the border, we are delighted to announce the launch of “Little Kicks” in Scotland.

In spite of the slightly different name, the programme, philosophy and ethos of the classes remain the same. Having provided over 9,000 pre-schoolers in England, Wales and Ireland with a positive introduction to sport, we are delighted to have the opportunity to do the same in Scotland!

Little Kickers was launched in London in 2002 by Christine Stanschus and Sarah Field whose pre-school sons were passionate about football. Since then, the business has grown dramatically, and now operates through a network of over 70 franchises in the UK and classes are also run in the Republic of Ireland and South Africa. In addition to introducing pre-school kids to fundamental ball skills through a fun-based programme, early learning concepts such as socialisation, parts of the body, colours and numbers are also incorporated into the classes.

Deborah Paris, the Little Kicks franchisee for Edinburgh West was first introduced to the classes in Dublin, where her football-mad toddler, Zach, was a regular participant. A family move back to Scotland prompted Deborah to search for classes in the Edinburgh area. When she found that Little Kickers had not expended into Scotland, she decided to get in touch to find out more about the franchise programme.

“Zach really loved the Little Kickers class he went to in Dublin and was very upset when I told him we were moving away so he had to stop the class and say bye to coach Niamh and coach John. I contacted Little Kickers to enrol Zach in a class in Edinburgh or West Lothian only to discover Little Kickers was not yet in Scotland. At that time I was on a career break, being a full time mum to Zach and my 6 month old daughter Lucy, I was looking to return to work over the next 6 months however I wanted to find a job that would give me a better work / life balance. After speaking to Sally at head office and receiving lots of information on the company I decided that being a Little Kickers franchisee would be the perfect chance for me to run my own business whilst providing fun classes for young children like Zach and Lucy” said Deborah, whose classes start in Livingston on 18^th October.
